Master Carlson Gracie Senior last words at San Diego Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy & Mixed Martial Arts November 13, 2009
“My God, is this a palace?” Master Carlson Gracie was very impressed with our mat space and quality facility.
“This is the school I always dreamed of…Great facility with good people”
Paulo Fernando head instructor and President of San Diego Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy & Mixed Martial Arts, one week and a half before Master Carlson Gracie Senior passed way invited him to teach full time at our school and train our students.
“ Master Carlson answered “ Coming back to California, working in a school like this and staying close to my daughter’s house is everything I want right now, I can’t stand the coldness in Chicago anymore, my body hurts too much, This is a dream coming true”
“ Paulo I trust and your family of students so much, You are a very smart person and extremely organized, I think we can build the largest MMA team in California together and I know for a fact you will never betray me” Master Carlson Gracie words about Paulo Fernando
“I am going to Ohio for the Arnold event, I have a few fighters from Brazil competing on it, afterwards we will build the strongest no holds barred Team in California”
It was a great pleasure working with Master Carlson Gracie Senior even though was just for one year, great person with a great personality, outstanding character , honest and very loyal to his fighters, it was sad that we did not have the time to establish Master Carlson Gracie senior’s dream. I, Paulo Fernando head instructor and President of San Diego Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy & Mixed Martial Arts, had the pleasure of working with the legend and make his very last few days, very happy days, with a goal in mind, build the biggest MMA team in California. I got him very close to that dream.. Unfortunately God’s time is different than our time.
Thanks Master Carlson for all the instruction, knowledge and orientation you gave to us. We will always miss you here. You better believe on us, a legend never dies; you will always be remembered among us Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA players. Thank you!!
